Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Relieves Summerheat, stops restlessness and quenches thirst
    Summerheat, fever due to Heat Accumulation, intermittent fevers
    Diabetes, diarrhea, dysentery
    Strangury, dysuria
    Pharyngitis, bronchitis, sore throat
    Lumbago
    Inflammation and alcohol intoxication
  2. Circulates Qi
    Rheumatism, rheumatalgia
    Leprosy, esophageal and gastric cancer
  3. Strengthens the Spleen
    Dyspepsia, generalized debility
    Haemorrhage, leukorrhea, threatened and abortion

Suggested Daily Dosage: 9-15g in decoction.


Cautions: It is contraindicated in case of dysentery and malaria.

It should not be eaten in excess, and should not be cooked with pork, which can easily cause abdominal pain.
