Traditional Actions/Indications:
- Releases the Exterior and clears Wind-Heat
Colds, flu and fever with cough
- Clears Heat and dries Dampness
Cough with sputum, especially in pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy and tuberculosis
Suggested Daily Dosage: 0.5 - 4g in decoction. Usually taken as tincture.
Cautions: Do not use in pregnancy. In high doses the drug is emetic and due to the content of cardiac glycosides, digitalis-like poisoning is conceivable.
