Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Dispels Wind, relieves pain, reduces inflammation and opens the channels and collaterals
    Pain, inflammation, traumatic injury
  2. Reduces swelling and eliminates toxins
    Toxic swelling, sore throat, jaundice, cold headache, whooping cough, infantile convulsion, fungal infection of the hand, carbuncle and swelling on the back
    Athlete's foot, topically

Suggested Daily Dosage: 9-15g in decoction.


Cautions: It is contraindicated to pregnant women.


Notes:

Also used in western herbalism as a Kidney tonic to counter inflammation and irritation caused by bacterial infections or kidney stones.
