Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Regulates Blood and Tonifies the Upper Jiao
    Heart, blood, and circulation conditions, especially hypertension
    glaucoma and elevated intraocular pressure
    Cough, wheezing and shortness of breath, asthma
    Stomachache, gastric and intestinal spasm, nausea
    Neck stiffness, Bi Syndrome
    Amenorrhoea
  2. Clears Heat and resolves Toxicity
    Topically for burns, wounds, insect bites, allergies, ringworm

  3. Suggested Daily Dosage: 1.5-3g in decoction, or more often taken as powder, 100-200mg per dose, 3x per day.


    Notable Constituents:
    • Forskolin
      Commonly used in cell biology to raise levels of cAMP by stimulating adenylate cyclase. It has antihypertensive, positive inotropic, platelet aggregation inhibitory, and smooth muscle relaxant activities. It also lowers intraocular pressure and promotes release of hormones from the pituitary gland.
