Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Activates the Blood and stops bleeding
    Irregular menstruation, infertility
    Red itchy rashes
    Vomiting blood
    Externally to restore hair growth
  2. Expels Wind, clears Heat and alleviates pain
    Hot Bi
  3. Tonifies the Spleen and stops diarrhoea
    Diarrhoea due to Spleen deficiency

Suggested Daily Dosage: 10-30g in decoction.


Notes:

When used externally for hair growth 1m of the fresh root is taken and steamed on a tile roof until liquid oozes out of both ends. This liquid is taken and used as shampoo (Imperial Medicaments, Ed. Chen, Trans. You, 1996).
