Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Clears Heat and removes Toxicity
    Sores and boils, snake bites, eruptive diseases, cancer
  2. Regulates Qi, invigorates the Blood, breaks up Blood Stasis and alleviates pain
    Diarrhea, toothache, chest pain, laryngalgia

Suggested Daily Dosage: 5-10g in decoction.


Cautions: Traditionally contraindicated to weak people.

As an aristolochia species it contains aristolochic acids which are carcinogenic and nephrotoxic. Not specifically listed in the banned and restricted herbal ingredients list issued by the MHRA but all aristolochia species are banned.
