氣端 : Qiduan : Qi Extremity

Location:

On the tips of the ten toes, approximately 0.1 cun from the fingernail.

Needling:

Prick to bleed. This may be followed by moxibustion.

TCM Actions:

Relieves swelling and pain of the foot
Opens the portals and revives consciousness.

TCM Indications:

• Leg Qi, pain and swelling of the dorsum of the feet, foot pain.
  
• Loss of consciousness, Windstroke (中風, Zhong Feng), apoplexy.

Neuroanatomy:

Superficial Innervation: Dorsal digital nerves from fibular, tibial and sural nerves, originating from the sciatic (L4 - S2).

Dermatome Segment: Big toe: L4; middle toes: L5; little toe: S1.
