Horary Points

The point on a channel that is the same as the channel's element, e.g. Yingu Kid-10 is the Water point on the Kidney channel. Commonly used in five element protocols, e.g.: For deficiency syndromes:

  1. Tonify the horary point on the mother organ's channel.
  2. Tonify the mother organ's element point on the affected channel.
  3. Sedate the horary point on the "controlling" organ's channel.
  4. Sedate the controlling organ's element point on the affected organ.
For excess syndromes:
  1. Tonify the horary point on the controlling organ's channel.
  2. Tonify the controlling point on the affected channel.
  3. Sedate the horary point on the "son" channel.
  4. Sedate the son point on the affected channel.
They are also used for preventing jet lag where the horary point of the destination time according to the Chinese clock is pressed every two hours while on a flight. Needless to say, this is modern invention and also likely a western innovation, as is most Five Element Acupuncture, made apparent by the fact that no Chinese glossary seems to have a translation for this term.
