A condition characterised by distention and protrusion of dark red or purple coloured blood vessels below the tongue. little growth may form resembling little tongues which may join together to resemble a lotus flower. Often accompanied with tidal fever, headache, stiffness of the neck, difficulty in swallowing food, inability to speak and drooling. Over time it may erode. It is usually attributed to an attack of Exterior Wind against a background of Heart and Spleen Damp-Heat.
