White Tiger Joint Wind (白虎風病, Bai Hu Feng Bing)

The TCM term for gout, described as producing "pain like that of a tiger gnawing on one's toes" (Dashtdar et al, 2016). It is caused by excessive consumption of alcohol or fatty foods leading to obstruction of the channels by Wind, Cold, Dampness and Heat resulting in Qi and Blood stasis and the formation of Phlegm.
