Category: Formulas that Expel Dampness

Pattern: Early stages of Wind-Cold-Damp Painful Obstruction; Bi Syndrome due to deficiency of the Du Mai.

Key Symptoms: Joint pain that increases with cold and diminishes by warmth
Secondary Symptoms: Heaviness and numbness in the extremities

Tongue: Thick, white coating
Pulse: Slow and may be slippery


Ingredients

Qiang Huo 3g
Du Huo 3g
Qin Jiao 3g
Sang Zhi 9g
Hai Feng Teng 9g
Dang Gui 9g
Chuan Xiong 2.1g
Ru Xiang 2.4g
Mu Xiang 2.4g
Rou Gui 1.5g
Zhi Gan Cao 1.5g

Subsitutions:
At present the dosages are usually increased 2-3 times and Rou Gui is substituted with Gui Zhi.


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Dispels Wind, eliminates Dampness and alleviates Painful Obstruction

Contraindications: Damp-Heat painful obstruction
