Policies

To help appointments run smoothly and ensure clarity for everyone, the following policies apply to all consultations and treatments.

Deposits and Booking

A deposit is required to secure your appointment:

The deposit is redeemed against the final appointment fee.

Before your first appointment, you will also be asked to read, complete and return an informed consent form. This helps ensure that you understand the proposed treatments and have an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns before treatment begins.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment.

Cancellations or changes made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in loss of your deposit.

Where an appointment can be rescheduled and paid for in advance, £20 of the cancellation charge may be transferred towards the new appointment.

Exceptions may be considered in circumstances such as unexpected illness or emergencies. Please contact me as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.

Failure to attend an appointment without notice may result in the full appointment fee being charged.

Insurance

If you have private health insurance, please check whether your policy covers acupuncture before booking.

Some insurers recognise practitioners registered with professional bodies such as the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), although policies vary considerably.

Please be aware that insurance policies differ in what they cover. Some insurers may only reimburse acupuncture treatments and may not cover additional services such as:

Where an insurer does not cover the full range of services provided, any additional costs remain the responsibility of the patient.

Payment Methods

Payment is preferred in advance by bank transfer.

I can also accept:

Payment details will be provided when booking.

Consent and Safety

Before your first treatment, you will be asked to complete an informed consent form covering:

Please inform me of any changes to your health, medication or circumstances between appointments so that treatment can be adapted appropriately.

Concessions

I offer reduced fees for people who are currently unemployed and receiving benefits.

These discounts are intended to improve access to care for those who would otherwise struggle to afford treatment. As they come directly from my own professional fees, evidence of eligibility may be requested and reviewed periodically.

Concessions apply to treatment fees only and cannot be applied to the cost of herbal products, laboratory testing or other external costs.
